Autism Support Network Hosts Gala in South Surrey

The Autism Support Network will be hosting the Blues and Bites Gala Fundraiser on April 8, 2017 to raise funding in support of B.C. families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The event will be emceed by Global BC News Reporter Catherine Urquhart and will treat guests to Top Chef style tasting stations by local culinary master Chef Peter Bucher, B.C. wine pairings, and entertainment by award-winning Canadian blues musician Harpdog Brown and his Travelin’ Blues Show. All proceeds raised will go towards providing services, education and support to families affected by ASD.

Tickets are $125 and are available at autismsupportbc.ca/bb2017. “Affecting one in every 68 children born today, Autism Spectrum Disorder can have a considerable impact on families, both emotionally and financially,” says Dione Costanzo, Director, Autism Support Network. “The Blues and Bites Gala helps raise funding to ensure that our organization can continue to offer support and education to our community and families throughout B.C.”

Now in its second year, the gala will be held at Semiahmoo Secondary in South Surrey and will feature a silent auction, mystery balloon prizes, and the popular wine board. Chef Peter Bucher and his team of culinary apprentices, will be serving up local and international cuisine at various tasting stations, allowing guests to mix and mingle while they sample delicious dishes paired with local wines.

Run by volunteers, the Autism Support Network is an organization of families and professionals that seek to build local community-based support networks, and provide resources to families including information, education and improved access to quality, scientifically-proven Autism treatment.
