I was honoured to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration this year in Disneyland. This event is unique in that it is an part conference plus press event for Disney and also part family vacation, with loads of extra magical Disney touches for the entire family all rolled into four special days.

We were thrilled to be able to stay on-site at the newly renovated Disneyland Hotel and enjoy the close proximity to the park. Check out my recent post on why you should chose to stay on Disney property for your Disneyland vacation.

My girls were so happy to be welcomed by Mickey Mouse!

We heard from the President of the Disneyland Resort, Michael Colglazier welcoming us to the park and touching on the importance of social media for Disney Parks.  Disneyland is the second most Instagramed location in the USA (Times Square is the 1st).

Disney Conference Days

On Conference Day, 200 Mom (and a few Dads) publishers and bloggers gathered in a beautiful ballroom for a day of magical Disney sessions and a few inspirational speakers. We were lucky to hear from the “Chief Exec Bear” at Build-A-Bear, Maxine Clark who is inspiring and coaching female entrepreneurs with her foundation, as well as Donald Driver, former NFL player and Dancing With The Stars champion.

Doug Bowman Twitter

Finally, Doug Bowman the Creative Director at Twitter talked about the fact that Twitter gives anyone, and everyone, a voice. He reminded us all why we love Twitter so much, and provided some tips on using Twitter through a great Roger Ebert quote “Twitter is something like a casual conversation among friends over dinner: Jokes, gossip, idle chatter, despair, philosophy, snark, outrage, news bulletins, mourning the dead, passing the time, remembering favorite lines, revealing yourself.”

At lunch, we had the opportunity to meet Elsa & Anna from the hit Disney movie Frozen!

ToonTown

One of the highlights for us as a family was having Mickey’s Toontown closed for us Saturday night, enabling us to ride Mickey’s Gadget Go Coaster over and over (and over!), having desert bars and slush stands and making a stop for a few Matterhorn rides before heading back to the hotel for the night.

Sunday we enjoyed Cars Land for a few hours before it opened to the public. I will be posting a separate post specifically about California Adventure’s Cars Land – it truly is that amazing.

Radiator Springs Racers is sure to become a new family favourite and classic for Disney Parks, it’s simply fantastic!

Full Disclosure: I was invited to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. Disney Parks offered a special discounted rate for all attendees and their families. This is a once in a lifetime experience and I am grateful to Disney for allowing my family and I to participate. All posts unless otherwise indicated are not ads and are my own personal thoughts and opinions, not those of the Walt Disney Company.

Congrats on being invited! I wonder if you would be willing to share how one gets invited? I assume it has something to do with numbers in regards to your blog followers, but thought there may be an application process I could go through? I appreciate any assistance you can provide.
