{Dining with Kids} Panda Express

Did you know that Panda Express now has multiple locations in the Edmonton area?! I recently discovered the newest Panda Express location in South Edmonton and since I love American Chinese food I was very happy to hear this and I promptly took my daughter there for lunch. I have since learned that this is Panda Express’ tenth location in Canada and I can see why. On our lunch date, we enjoyed the Chow Mein, Beijing Beef, white rice, and the Orange Chicken; it was a tough choice but we loved everything and had lots of food to spare! {Find the full menu here}

Panda Express first opened in California in 1983, and since then they have added many items to the menu, perfected their flavors and expanded into Canada and several other international locations. One of their top menu items is their Orange Chicken and I can see why — it is delightful and my daughter was quick to gobble it up with me. Panda Express Chef, Andy Kao, actually developed Orange Chicken with the inspiration of the flavors of Hunan Province, the dish features crispy chicken bites in a sweet and spicy orange sauce – yum!

The Service was great too!

So as I mentioned above we loved the food but it’s also important to note how great the service was too! When we walked into Panda Express we were welcomed by all of the staff and by the pleasant smells. The food is hot, fresh and displayed before your eyes so you see exactly what you are going to get and you don’t have to wait long to get it. As a Mom of young children, I really appreciated the speed and consistency of this and I was also extra impressed by the staff member who helped us. I was showing my three-year-old daughter all of the options and telling her the names of everything so she could help me make our selections and while I was doing this, the staff member offered us a sample — my daughter tasted the Orange Chicken and agreed it should be included on our plate.
