Now that October is here the Halloween season is kicking into high gear. Get your whole family in the spirit by rounding up the kids and visiting a pumpkin patch. We’ve rounded up five of our favourite Metro Vancouver pumpkin patches to check out this year.

Southlands Farm Pumpkin Patch

You don’t have to leave the city in your hunt for Vancouver pumpkin patches. Southlands Farm offers a self-tour pumpkin patch experience. You can see horses, pet lambs, and pick a pumpkin from the ones spread around the orchard. Admission is by donation, and pumpkins are $5 each. Open daily during October.

Richmond Country Farms

If you like a full-immersion pumpkin patch experience, Richmond Country Farms may be just the ticket. According to their website they get thousands of visitors every year out to enjoy the costumed entertainers, music, hay rides to the fields, and animal farm and more. Admission is $8 weekdays and $12 weekends, and includes a kid-sized pumpkin. Extra kid-sized pumpkins are $4.

Westham Island Herb Farm

Every year at the end of September Westham Island Herb farm in Delta opens their pumpkin patch. You’ll find a whole lot of pumpkins and gourds in all shapes, sizes and colours. There are also displays, hand-carved pumpkins, and a “haunted” converted quonset hot house. Admission is free but you’ll pay for your pumpkins. Open daily until Halloween.

Laity Pumpkin Patch

Out in Maple Ridge Laity Pumpkin Patch has topped the list of Metro Vancouver pumpkin patches for many families for over 25 years. You’ll see attractions including a corn maze, fairy tale displays, tractor-wagon rides, farm animals, wooden animals and more. Admission is $5 for adults and kids aged three and up or $20 per family. Pumpkins start at $2 for the smallest and go up from there. Open daily until Halloween.

Aldor Acres

Aldor Acres in Langley transforms every October for their Pumpkin Festival. There are animal displays, a petting zoo, daily pig races, hayrides to the fields and a farm store selling fresh veggies, eggs and pork among other things. Admission is $8 for anyone of walking age or $38 for a family day pass. Open daily until Halloween.
