Hot Find Friday: Boiron Homeopathic Cold & Flu Remedies #boironfamily

Let me just start off by saying I’m very excited to be working with Boiron this year to provide samples at some of our events nationwide, and to also tell you a little more about them and homeopathic remedies and what that means.

We are in the thick of cold & flu season right now. Raise your hand if you’ve had a bug or two make their way through your family in the past few weeks.

We’ve had both a bad cold and a 24 hour stomach flu make the rounds in our house this month. None of that is any fun. PLUS you can’t give your little ones much of anything in the way of traditional cold medicines any more since they took them off the shelves a few years back.

cold & flu season

When the cold, including a dry incessant cough, runny nose and fever first took hold around here, I had just received a supply of Boiron’s cold & flu products (timely!). We immediately began dispensing the stuff like candy and packed it up to take along on our family vacation too.

I particularly liked the Coryzalia tablets which helped all three of my girls with their cough, especially at night. And when you’re sharing a hotel room with your three children, every noise, especially coughing, disturbs everyone.

Here are my must-haves for cold & flu season:

A Good Book for couch time

My current pick is The Fringe Hours by my friend Jessica Turner. It’s amazing what you can achieve by leveraging your ‘Fringe Hours’ – which are the times throughout the day that you already have. Every woman has had this experience: you get to the end of the day and realize you did nothing for you. And if you go days, weeks, or even months in this cycle, you begin to feel like you have lost a bit of yourself. Perfect for any mom who is doing everything for everyone—except herself.

Boiron Homeopathic products

“A presence in Canada for more than 25 years, Boiron Canada is proud to provide Canadians with simple and effective solutions for self-medication.” We were impressed by the effectiveness of the Coryzilia tablets, the Stodal cough syrup (for 1-11 year olds, but I used it too and it worked!) and the Oscillococcinum for more serious symptoms like fever, headache, body aches and chills.

Lemon Water

Not only does lemon water have benefits to boost weight loss, it also helps boost immunity. Read all about the wonders of lemon water here and here.

Vitamin C

Oranges + vitamins, it’s all important in the cold + flu season. Vitamin C helps curb symptoms when you do get sick and helps your body fight viruses on an ongoing basis.

Tissue

Well, of course you must stock tissue in your home in the winter months. I love to have good soft extra plush tissue in the house always, but January through March are especially key months.

Sleep

Extra rest will help your body fight viruses plus it’s extra important for moms because we’re the ones keeping everything together. Aim for 7+ hours per night.

Warm Milk

I love a cup of warm milk with a bit of honey to help me fall asleep when I’m coughing or just not feeling totally myself.

Here is a very helpful chart for figuring out if you or your brood is fighting a cold or the flu:
