How Does She Do It?…with Bree Driedger

Twice a month we interview Moms in our “How Does She Do It?” feature. If interested in participating please reach out on Facebook or Instagram.

It’s time for another How Does She Do It! We are thrilled to introduce you to Bree Driedger from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Bree Driedger and her family

Are you an Urban or Suburban Mama, where do you live?

Urban, I live 12 minutes from Downtown Vancouver.

Tell us about your children

I have two children, both girls, a 9 month old and an almost 4 year old. My eldest daughter had reflux, wouldn’t let us put her down, and didn’t nap for more than 20 minutes at a time until she was about 9 months old. When my now 9 month old arrived and would put herself to sleep right from birth I wasn’t sure what to do with myself!

Tell us about your typical weekday

Most of my days start at 5:45am when I leave for the gym. My 4 year old has a bunch of different activities during the week that keep us busy, as well as preschool. I’m a work-at-home mom who has a budding cake business, so when I’m not ferrying the 4 year old to her activities I’m busy in the kitchen baking.

Do you have help?

Not a heck of a lot. My family lives a few hours away, and my husbands family is far enough away also that having them watch the girls is more inconvenient than it is convenient. One of my best friends is a stay at home mom, and we swap childcare, which is fabulous! I don’t know what I would do with out her.

Who cooks dinner?

90% of the time I do. Thank goodness for my slow cooker!

How often do you buy something for just you?

Not counting cake decorating supplies, rarely.

Do you exercise regularly and if so, what and how do you fit it in?

I try to exercise 4-5 times a week. I go to the gym in the mornings 2-3 times a week, and I run with my 9 month old while my 4 year old is at preschool.

What clothing lines or stores do you like to buy for your children?

Gap, H&M, Joe Fresh.

I’m totally obsessed with…

My new airbrush machine.

Three things in my purse right now …

Swiss Army Knife (don’t leave home without it!), Saje Safe Hands Hand Sanitizer, and headphones.

My favorite drugstore buy…

Revlon Colour Burst Balm Stain

My guilty pleasure is….

Angry Orchard Apple Ciders

Thank you to Bree Driedger for taking the time out of your day to let us know “How Does She Do It.”
