How Netlfix Revolutionized Saturday Morning Cartoons

Just last week, I was chatting with a friend (who doesn’t have kids), this person was asking my kids if they had enjoyed watching Saturday-Morning-Cartoons earlier that day and my kids gave them a blank stare. I was quick to let my friend know that, that isn’t a thing anymore and my kids can watch cartoons when they want on Netflix, whenever they want. In fact, I’m guilty of handing the iPad over to my kids in the early morning when they wake up before I want to be up so that I can get an extra thirty minutes of shut-eye.

This lead us to a deeper conversation about how kids now don’t know the struggle that we grew up with; they can watch what they want when they want and they don’t have to worry about commercial breaks, tv guide mix-ups or cable outages. Not to mention that they have all of their shows at their fingertips, they are free to explore and discover shows with endless opportunities for more. Lucky kids!

Okay, lucky for us parents too! We also have the luxury of watching whatever we want, on our terms. I have been known for sneaking an episode or two of my current show in while the kids are napping, that is some great Mom-time, right?! I also love binge-watching my favorites after the kids go to bed and depending on if my husband is up for joining me or not we have so many options for what to watch.

Personally, I’m all over the map with my Netflix profile; I love comedies and dramas and documentaries and crime shows and thrillers and sci-fi and the list goes on and on and on… currently I am watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Orange is the New Black (new season!!), Homeland, Riverdale, and Blacklist. I’m always checking out new shows/movies and I would love to know what you are currently watching/what you would recommend I check out!
