Silver Star Mountain with Kids: Dining Options

We recently enjoyed a weekend getaway at Silver Star Mountain Resort to take in the beauty of its winter wonderland. We didn’t ski, and there were amazing activities for us to enjoy throughout our stay (including fabulous accommodations).

Our dining picks:

The Bulldog Grand Cafe’

Both mornings we went into the village in search of a hot breakfast and ended up here. It’s very casual (paper plates) and self-serve order counter but the food was great and very inexpensive. My daughters loved the panecooks (crepe-like) and poffertjes (small dutch pancakes) and I enjoyed the scramble wrap and great coffee.

Bugaboos

Fresh baked goods and excellent coffee, plus sandwiches. It’s a small space, most families just stop in on their way to the hill for a grab’n’go breakfast.

The Red Antler

An inviting and lively pub with a giant JENGA game, sofas, fuseball table and nightly entertainment with a full children’s menu makes for easy meal times.

1609 Restaurant & Lounge

My favourite meal was here, a fresh & contemporary, classy restaurant. The kids meals were large, delicious and fresh as were our meals. The wine list was local (BC) mostly which we enjoyed as well.

Out Of Bounds Coffee

All natural, and several locals (by local, I mean a a group of guys’ that frequent Silver Star every January) highly recommended the huevos rancheros here. It’s tiny and very casual, but well known for their breakfast special (the huevos rancheros), coffee and crepes.

With over 15 dining options in the quaint village of Silver Star, you’ll be sure to find something suitable for the whole family.
