Snow Days!

We got some snow here on the West Coast this week! Not a ton, but enough to get the kids super excited, and reek a bit of havoc on the streets of Vancouver.

I grew up in Manitoba so I don’t miss the snow, or the cold. But my girls? That’s a different story – they LOVE the snow. In fact, we lived in Edmonton for four years and they STILL talk about the wonderful snow memories from there all. the. time.

So, when it does snow here on occasion, they get outside to play as MUCH as they can!

Some of my favourite snow day fun:

Build a Fort, of course!

My husband shovels a large pile together, and the girls dig a hole through to play ‘inside’.

Find a Mountain

We live close to the mountains, fortunately, so we get out and enjoy them! Tubing, skating, snowman making, skiing and snowboarding it’s all a blast in the Mountains!

Don’t forget the proper gear

Snow pants, proper warm and water-resistant boots, mittens and a toque is all you need to enjoy an hour or so outside. The kids would also get a scarf wrapped around their face when we lived in Alberta!

The best, and warmest, winter coats are down-filled so when you’re buying new ones, check the label!

After we’re done playing – we always go out for a treat

Our treats usually include a trip to McDonald’s. Lucky for us, they have a few holiday favourites right now.

Check out my Season’s Cravings post for all of the details, but here are our picks:
