Summer Stuff in the City

Summer is always buzzing in Vancouver, that’s for sure.

Given that we are in the final weeks, if you are thinking, “hmm I wonder what events are taking place that I should check out this month?” don’t worry, we got you covered.

Here are some events around town, that you may find entertaining:

Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS)

Outdoor musical theatre, how fun!  This year the musicals are Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and The West Side Story.  Shows run until August 20th, on alternating evenings, and take place in Stanley Park.

CBC Musical Nooners

The final week of a series of free musical concerts, featuring a blend of folk, Latin and Indie rock.  The last show is being held on August 19th.  Shows run from 12pm to 1pm at the Outdoor Plaza at the CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre.

The Fair at the PNE

Starting from August 2oth and running to September 5th, The Fair is always family fun.  With a variety of rides for kids of all ages, a specific kids zone, exhibits, animals, concerts, games and face painting, this is a must-go to event yearly.

Sunday Night Drive-In Movies

Every Sunday, the River District, in South Vancouver, is hosting drive-in kid/family friendly movies for the month of August.  The lineup for the next 2 weeks includes Frozen and The Angry Birds Movie.  Be sure to get there early and reserve a spot, show starts at 630pm.
