The PEP Talk Series – Parenting Series starts March 7th

PEPtalk

For your next date night, consider a great dinner out followed by a PEP talk  (Parenting Educational Program), a monthly series from March to June. These talks are organized to be thought provoking and inspiring, like a TED Talk for parents. Net proceeds will benefit the Vancouver International Children’s Festival.

I see this as a unique opportunity to see a few great “experts” on parenting and kids in a theatre setting. If I didn’t have a newborn at home, I’d attend the full series!

The first speaker is Lenore Skenazy, dubbed America’s Worst Mom and the author of Free Range Kids, who will be in Vancouver on March 7. Other speakers include Sheryl Feinstein (April 10) “The Adolescent Brain”, Deborah MacNamara (May 15) “The Lost Art of Play: Helping Children Grow Up”, and Lisa Bloom (June 12) “Raising Smart Kids in the New Millenium.”

All PEP talks happen at the Vancouver Playhouse (600 Hamilton St.) on March 7, April 10, May 15 and June 12 at 7:30 pm. Ticket prices are $130 for the entire series or $35 per speaker. Get details and book your ticket HERE.

Modern Mama will be giving away tickets to Lisa Bloom’s talk later this year. Stay tuned!
